Rampage Rally

My Submission for the 3D art challenge ‘Rampage Rally’

I made this action sequence for the 3D art challenge ‘Rampage Rally’. The path of the camera and the car (or moving object) was the given start point.

In my submission a small glass dome buggy is chased by a heavy military vehicle. A helicopter hangs dangerously over a cliff as backup. The small buggy destroys the heavy vehicle with its turret canon and jumps across a broken bridge. In flight it takes out the helicopter.
Before landing it shoots two sidewinder missiles to clear the way ahead. The way is blocked by some roadblocks and two interceptor vehicles. The big explosion of the missiles clears the way. The buggy then drives thru the fire and escapes.


My entry: 6 seconds full of action mayhem!

First I collected several images for the design of the cars, helicopter and guns/turrets in the animation.

I had so much fun making this. I learned a lot of new animation tricks. And making the final explosion was a blast!


The exploding barrier is part of the big finale.
